BRAILLE BATTERY HYBRID WINS FIRST ALTERNATIVE FUEL RACE IN REDLINE TIME ATTACK SERIES
For Immediate Release:
Braille, a leader in lightweight racing battery technology, has applied their racing background to create the first production based hybrid racecar in North America. The Braille Battery Nissan Altima “Hot Rod Hybrid” made its debut in Redline Time Attack series at round 5 at Carolina Motorsports Park this past weekend. Another first in racing is the fact that Redline Time Attack officials have created an Alternative Fuel Class that can accommodate the newest in alternative fuel racing vehicles and help grow this emerging class. The Braille team won the class and would set the first track record in a Hybrid at 1:57.910.
Driver and Braille Team owner had this to say about the competition. “We could not be more pleased about what we accomplished this weekend. “The Redline Time Attack series is leading the way in seeing the future of racing. Creating an alternative fuel category demonstrates how Redline understands the origins of the sport as a way involve street tuned cars in competition and push the envelop in technology”.
The Braille team has plans to continue to develop the Hot Rod Hybrid and promote the Alternative Fuel Class as proving ground for new technology.
“We will see more Hybrids, Diesels and full Electric Street cars in the very near future and the way to evolve the technology is to go racing, said Fuller. We hope to grow this category by getting the word out that we have a place to compete with the Redline Time Attack series. The Hot Rod Hybrid may not have been the fastest car on the track but is sure was the greenest and being green can be cool if you have fun doing it.”
