Braille Lithium Wins With Muscle Milk Aston Martin In History Making Finish
Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin is one the highest speed and most anticipated races of the season. It took four hours of racing to decide the closest race in American Le Mans Series history with the Muscle Milk Lola-Aston Martin edging out Dyson Racing by a mere 0.112 seconds to bring home the overall win. With its four miles of sweeping turns and high speed straights drivers in the LMP1 class enjoy taking their racecars to the limit. The No. 6 Muscle Milk Aston Martin team put on a tremendous show for the ALMS fans. The closing minutes were a sprint to the finish with the Dyson Racing Lola giving chase to the Aston Martin. Both cars weaved through traffic blasting down the straightaways at a record setting pace. In the end Klaus Graf drove an amazing race to hold off Guy smith in the Dyson Racing Lola.
“The last 20 minutes, it was probably the toughest of my career,” Graf said. “I can’t remember pushing so hard for the last two hours. We were completely lucky the way the yellow came out (with 50 minutes left). The guys just drove an awesome race. We made for a great show. We showed ALMS has some of the best sports car drivers in the world.”
